Flamebar Fire-rated Ventilation Systems
Presentation Outline
Please join Matt Page, Engineering Business Development Manager with Conquest Firespray, to discuss Flamebar fire-rated ventilation systems:
· Applicable codes and standards, including symmetry and continuity requirements
· Review product testing and listings, including clarification around “Duct A” and “Duct B”
· Discussion of applications, including kitchen exhaust / grease duct, fan enclosures, as well as fire-rated duct as an alternative to:
o FRR architectural enclosures (pressurization and exhaust)
o FRR shafts (including space and cost savings)
o Combination fire/smoke dampers (including damper relocation)
· Case study review and associated high-level cost comparisons across several competitive products
Goal for the session – enhance your understanding of the fire-rated duct landscape in a manner that allows you to deploy this knowledge immediately on projects!
Conquest is an AIA CES provider and the session can provide 1.0 LU/HSW (AIA), 1.0 PDH and/or 0.1 CEU credits for those in need.
Matt Page
Matt Page is the Engineering Business Development Manager for Conquest Firespray. A native New Yorker, Matt started his career in fire protection as a Project Manager for a sprinkler contractor. After learning the industry and gaining valuable knowledge about system design and operation, an opportunity to work for a major fire suppression product manufacturer moved him to the West Coast. Matt spent 4 years as Business Development Manager for the Western US providing new product information and technical applications support to the engineering community. 2022 brought about another opportunity on the passive side of the industry to join the team at Conquest, where his focus is still on supporting designers and specifiers of fire-rated ventilation systems. Conquest manufactures Flamebar Fire-Rated Ductwork (FRD) used to achieve code compliant fire-resistance ratings for ventilation systems in a cost-effective and space saving manner. Feel free to reach out to Matt with any questions you may have about Flamebar!
